Calculation methodology

The formulas, assumptions and limits behind Wattlyze household energy cost estimates, which use official data wherever a country reference applies.

How each estimate is calculated

Annual electricity cost = annual kWh × tariff; each bill component = annual cost × its share. Appliance energy = watts / 1000 × hours per use × uses per week × 52. EV grid energy = consumption per 100 km × annual km / 100 × (1 + charging overhead). Cost = energy × tariff; monthly cost = annual cost / 12. Energy is rounded only for display, after pricing.

Source and date on every result

Every result built on a published price shows its source and data date. Estimates are rounded for readability and are not financial advice.

What is not modelled

Wattlyze does not estimate heat-pump sizing from building physics, live public charger prices, or automated US state incentives.
